Buyer – Global Procurement Central Services (GPCS)

About the role

The Buyer GPCS supports Amazon fulfillment centres by managing the procurement of non‑inventory packaging supplies. Reporting to the Procurement Manager for GPCS EMEA, the role ensures a steady flow of shipping materials at the best value, while complying with Amazon’s spending policies.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute daily forecasts and material management for packaging supplies.
• Create purchase orders based on forecasts and internal requests.
• Liaise with suppliers to secure timely deliveries and manage delivery schedules.
• Develop relationships with on‑site management teams, external suppliers, and internal Amazon Operations and Corporate teams.
• Coordinate truck deliveries, plan time slots, and communicate schedules to local FC teams.
• Escalate delivery issues and ensure off‑loading aligns with agreed timelines.
• Work with Operations and SPO to mitigate space constraints and reduce invoices on hold.
• Support continuous‑improvement projects and provide training to new cluster buyers.

Required profile

• Willingness to travel occasionally (approximately 5% of time) to fulfilment centres.
• Ability to work collaboratively with internal customers and external suppliers.
• Commitment to follow Amazon’s Spending and Transaction Policy.
