Chemical Engineer

About the role

Saudi Gold Refinery is looking for a Chemical Engineer to optimise wet‑chemical refining processes and ensure technical accuracy in the assay laboratory. The role focuses on maximising gold and silver recovery from dore bars and recyclable feedstocks while maintaining strict safety and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse daily refining data and adjust acid ratios, temperature and other parameters to achieve maximum metal recovery.
• Provide technical guidance to laboratory technicians on wet‑chemical analyses and resolve instrumental calibration issues.
• Conduct regular audits of chemical storage, fume extraction and LOTO procedures to ensure compliance with PTW and safety standards.
• Monitor effluent pH and heavy‑metal concentrations, ensuring discharge limits meet national environmental permits.
• Maintain accurate documentation, method validation records and continuous‑improvement reports.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in chemical engineering, preferably in metal‑refining or precious‑metals processing.
• Strong knowledge of process safety principles, HAZOP studies and ISO‑based quality systems.
• Proven ability to work on‑site in a high‑throughput laboratory environment.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
