Chief Accountant – Finance & Shared Services

About the role

The Chief Accountant will lead day‑to‑day accounting operations for ASAS for Industrial Development, ensuring accurate financial records, timely month‑end and year‑end closes, and compliance with IFRS and internal policies. Reporting to the Finance Manager/CFO, the role provides critical financial information to support decision‑making and audit processes.

Key responsibilities

• Record and maintain financial transactions in the accounting system.
• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
• Support month‑end and year‑end closing activities and maintain accurate accounting records.
• Assist in preparing periodic financial statements and management reports.
• Reconcile account balances, investigate discrepancies, and support internal and external audits.
• Process invoices, payment requests, and monitor accounts payable and receivable.
• Coordinate with internal departments for financial documentation and approvals.
• Ensure accounting activities comply with company policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
• Maintain complete accounting documentation and filing records.
• Collaborate with finance team members and other departments to resolve accounting matters and contribute to process improvements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
• 7–10 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
• Experience preferably within contracting, construction, industrial, manufacturing, or multi‑business organizations.
• Professional certifications such as SOCPA, CPA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent are a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems.
• Strong command of Microsoft Office applications.
