Chief Accountant

About the role

The Chief Accountant leads the accounting department, develops financial strategies, supports strategic planning, and ensures compliance with financial regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting functions including AP, AR, Treasury, Fixed Assets, month‑end accruals and provisions.
• Manage year‑end and month‑end closing and prepare monthly financial statements.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and year‑end management financial reports.
• Review and approve all payment transactions such as reimbursements, vouchers and checks.
• Liaise with external government institutions and act as main contact for internal and external audits.
• Draft and recommend accounting policies and maintain the accounting manual.
• Review and approve journal vouchers and correct errors in financial entries.
• Coordinate timely payment of suppliers and administer balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Prepare annual budgets and oversee cost‑center reporting.
• Respond to all queries related to financial matters and employee or supplier payments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Background in Logistics or IT is preferred.
• Proven experience in budgeting, year‑end accounts and liaising with external auditors.
• Fluent in Arabic and English, both spoken and written.
• Strong proficiency with ERP systems.
