Civil Architectural Inspector

About the role

Jacobs is seeking an experienced Civil Architectural Inspector to ensure that hospitality projects meet the highest quality standards. You will oversee the construction of guest rooms, public spaces, façades, and back‑of‑house areas, guaranteeing compliance with project specifications, luxury brand requirements, and regulatory codes.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct inspections according to approved ITPs, WIRs, MIRs, shop drawings, specifications and method statements.
• Monitor and verify civil and architectural works such as blockwork, plastering, waterproofing, tiling, stonework, terrazzo, joinery, drywall, ceilings, painting, glazing, doors, ironmongery and external works.
• Check dimensions, tolerances, finish quality and workmanship; raise NCRs, inspection reports and corrective actions.
• Inspect guest‑facing areas (rooms, corridors, restaurants, spas, pools, façades) for luxury finish quality, waterproofing, fire‑rated doors and brand standards.
• Coordinate with contractors, architects, interior designers and MEP teams; support BIM‑to‑site verification and raise RFIs.
• Validate as‑built records and participate in daily walk‑downs, hold‑point inspections and snagging activities.

Required profile

• Proven site inspection experience in civil and architectural works.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify issues early.
• Passion for delivering high‑quality guest environments in hospitality projects.

Required skills

• Inspection of civil and architectural works (blockwork, plastering, waterproofing, tiling, stonework, terrazzo, joinery, drywall, ceilings, painting, glazing, doors, ironmongery).
• Knowledge of Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), Work Inspection Requests (WIRs), Method Inspection Requests (MIRs) and shop drawing review.
• Experience with NCR reporting and corrective action management.
• Proficiency in BIM verification and raising RFIs.
