Civil Inspector – Construction Site Inspection

About the role

The Civil Inspector will support the planning, implementation and inspection of civil engineering projects. The role requires a solid grounding in civil engineering principles and practical experience in on‑site construction inspection, material testing and compliance monitoring.

Key responsibilities

• Perform on‑site inspections to verify compliance with engineering plans, specifications, safety regulations and quality standards.
• Review construction drawings, blueprints and project documentation.
• Monitor contractor performance, verify work progress and document daily activities.
• Prepare inspection reports and communicate findings to senior engineers.
• Ensure materials and workmanship meet approved standards and procedures.
• Report and follow up on non‑conformities or issues identified during inspections.
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants and internal teams to resolve technical issues.
• Support testing and commissioning activities as required.
• Maintain up‑to‑date records and logs related to project inspections and compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with at least 3 years of relevant experience, OR a Diploma in Civil Engineering with at least 7 years of experience.
• Strong understanding of civil engineering and construction practices.
• Familiarity with relevant codes, standards and regulations.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Good communication and reporting skills with attention to detail.
