Cloud Architect – Azure & GCP (Banking Sector)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Cloud Architect to lead the design and delivery of enterprise‑grade cloud solutions on Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform for a major banking institution in Riyadh. The role is full‑time, onsite and focuses on shaping cloud strategy, governance, security and migration across a highly regulated financial environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, secure, highly available architectures on Azure and GCP.
• Lead cloud transformation and modernization initiatives within the banking sector.
• Develop architecture frameworks, standards, governance models and best practices.
• Create target‑state architectures and roadmaps aligned with business objectives.
• Ensure compliance with banking security, regulatory and audit requirements.
• Drive migration of applications, databases and infrastructure workloads to the cloud.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, security, application and business teams.
• Conduct architecture reviews, risk assessments and design assurance activities.
• Define disaster recovery, business continuity and resilience strategies.
• Optimize cloud environments for performance, scalability, cost and operational excellence.
• Support DevOps, automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and CI/CD implementations.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of overall IT experience.
• At least 5 years in cloud architecture roles.
• Direct experience working for a Saudi or GCC‑based bank.
• Proven track record delivering large‑scale cloud transformation projects in banking or financial services.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
