Commercial Director – Construction Projects

About the role

Mobco Group is looking for a highly accomplished Commercial Director to lead the commercial function across major construction and infrastructure projects in Saudi Arabia. The role involves shaping commercial strategy, safeguarding profitability, and ensuring contractual excellence throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement overall commercial strategy for large‑scale construction projects.
• Manage all commercial activities from project inception to final account settlement.
• Oversee contract administration, commercial negotiations, procurement strategies and subcontract management.
• Lead cost planning, budgeting, forecasting and financial performance monitoring.
• Handle contract variations, change orders, EOT claims and dispute resolution.
• Identify commercial risks and devise mitigation strategies.
• Negotiate agreements with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Monitor cash flow, cost performance, revenue recognition and profitability.
• Provide strategic commercial advice to senior management and project leadership.
• Lead multidisciplinary commercial teams and support business development activities.

Required profile

• Minimum 25 years of commercial management experience in construction.
• Engineering background (Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or related).
• Proven track record delivering mega projects for leading contractors.
• Extensive experience with high‑value contracts, FIDIC contracts and claims management.
• Previous work experience in Saudi Arabia or the GCC is highly preferred.
• Strong leadership of multidisciplinary commercial teams.
