Commercial Director

About the role

Parsons is looking for a seasoned Commercial Director to lead the commercial, financial and contractual strategy for a landmark infrastructure development in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia. This senior executive will protect the company’s commercial interests, drive profitability and manage complex contract variations on a mega‑project.

Key responsibilities

• Direct all pre‑ and post‑contract commercial, financial and contractual administration, aligning with corporate objectives and joint‑venture parameters.
• Lead negotiation and evaluation of high‑value variation orders, extensions of time and commercial claims.
• Provide strategic financial and contractual advice to the Project Director, senior management and client executives.
• Oversee dispute resolution in collaboration with legal and executive teams, minimizing commercial exposure.
• Supervise monthly progress payments, final accounts and comprehensive close‑out of major contractor packages.
• Establish and maintain robust contract and commercial management procedures and documentation.
• Mentor and manage a team of quantity surveyors, contract administrators, commercial managers and cost specialists.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Law, Civil Engineering, Commerce or Construction Management.
• Minimum 20 years post‑qualification experience in contract administration, commercial management and executive leadership on large‑scale international mega‑projects.
• Prior experience on NEOM or Public Investment Fund giga‑projects in Saudi Arabia or the GCC is strongly preferred.

Required skills

• Deep expertise in FIDIC contract forms (Blue, Red, Yellow books).
• Strong knowledge of Saudi procurement laws.
• Advanced claims analysis and risk mitigation capabilities.
• Extensive experience in contract administration and commercial negotiation.
