Commercial/Claims Manager

About the role

The Commercial/Claims Manager will lead the contractual and commercial side of road and infrastructure projects, ensuring that contracts are managed effectively, claims are handled professionally, and projects stay on schedule and within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and manage contracts, negotiating terms with clients, consultants and contractors.
• Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory and contractual obligations.
• Monitor project budgets, costs and financial performance.
• Prepare, review and negotiate claims, variations and change orders.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
• Provide commercial advice and support to project teams.
• Maintain accurate records of contracts, payments and correspondence.
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers and stakeholders to resolve disputes.
• Prepare reports on commercial performance for senior management.
• Oversee invoicing, payment collection and financial reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering, construction management, law or a related field.
• Proven experience in contract management and commercial roles on road or infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of standard construction contract forms such as FIDIC or NEC.
• Excellent negotiation, communication and leadership abilities.
• High attention to detail and strong problem‑solving skills.
