Consultant Intensive Care Physician

About the role

A leading healthcare organization in Saudi Arabia is looking for an experienced Consultant Intensive Care Physician to join its ICU team. The role involves senior‑level assessment, management and treatment of critically ill patients while supporting the hospital’s high‑quality intensive care services.

Key responsibilities

• Provide consultant‑level assessment and management of critically ill patients.
• Lead clinical care for patients admitted to the Intensive Care Unit.
• Manage complex medical and surgical critical‑care cases.
• Perform and supervise critical‑care procedures.
• Participate in emergency response and resuscitation efforts.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including emergency medicine, anesthesia, surgery and other specialties.
• Develop and implement treatment plans for critically ill patients.
• Contribute to clinical governance, audit, quality improvement and patient‑safety initiatives.
• Supervise and mentor junior medical staff and trainees.
• Engage in departmental teaching and professional development activities.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MBBS, MBChB or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
• Postgraduate qualification in Critical Care, Intensive Care Medicine or an equivalent pathway.
• Consultant‑level clinical experience in intensive/critical care.
• Eligibility for SCFHS professional classification at consultant level.
• Valid professional registration/licensing in the country of current practice.
• Male candidates only for this vacancy.
• Bilingual Arabic and English communication skills.
