Consultant Plastic Surgeon

About the role

Black Pearl Consult is hiring an experienced and highly qualified Consultant Plastic Surgeon. The role covers expert consultation, assessment, diagnosis and treatment of patients needing plastic and reconstructive surgery, including reconstructive cases such as trauma, burns and congenital conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert consultation, assessment, diagnosis and treatment for patients requiring plastic and reconstructive surgery.
• Perform appropriate plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgical procedures according to clinical expertise and scope of practice.
• Manage patients through pre-operative assessment, surgical intervention and post-operative follow-up, developing individualized treatment plans.
• Manage reconstructive cases involving trauma, burns, congenital conditions, defects after tumor excision and other acquired deformities, including soft-tissue reconstruction, skin grafting and tissue transfer.
• Take part in multidisciplinary case discussions and coordinate care with other medical and surgical specialties.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and comply with clinical governance, patient safety and infection-control standards.
• Contribute to quality improvement, clinical education and professional development.

Required profile

• Medical degree such as MBBS, MD or equivalent from a recognized institution.
• Recognized postgraduate qualification in Plastic Surgery and completion of specialist training of at least 36 months after the Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery, subject to SCFHS standards.
• Proven consultant-level experience in Plastic Surgery and strong clinical and surgical experience.
• Valid professional registration or licence in the country of current or recent practice.
• Eligibility for SCFHS Professional Classification as a Plastic Surgery consultant.
