Consultant Psychiatrist

About the role

The Consultant Psychiatrist will join the Internal Medicine Department of National Medical Care Co. and provide comprehensive psychiatric care to both in‑patients and out‑patients. The role involves delivering evidence‑based treatment, participating in preventive health programs, and ensuring compliance with Saudi Ministry of Health regulations and accreditation standards.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct psychiatric assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans for in‑patients and out‑patients.
• Perform regular ward rounds and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop integrated care plans.
• Handle referrals from other physicians and coordinate patient transfers to appropriate facilities.
• Participate in the department on‑call rota and respond to emergencies requiring psychiatric expertise.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential patient records.
• Supervise junior medical staff and lead performance‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years (60 months) of clinical experience in psychiatry.
• Board‑certified or equivalent qualification in psychiatry.
• Familiarity with Saudi health regulations, CBAHI and JCIA accreditation standards.
• Strong commitment to professional medical ethics and patient confidentiality.
