Cost Control Manager – Food Manufacturing

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Cost Control Manager to lead the costing function for a food manufacturing operation specializing in bakery, pastry and confectionery products in Riyadh. The role will ensure accurate product costing, monitor production expenses and drive margin improvements across the factory.

Key responsibilities

• Lead cost control and product‑costing activities for the factory.
• Develop and maintain standard costs for raw materials, labor, packaging and overhead.
• Calculate product costs using recipes, Bills of Materials (BOM), yields and routing data.
• Monitor actual costs against standards and budgets, analysing material, labour, overhead and purchase‑price variances.
• Review food costs, wastage, spoilage and production losses; reconcile inventory valuations.
• Allocate direct and indirect manufacturing costs accurately.
• Analyse profitability by product, category, customer and channel.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities without compromising quality.
• Support pricing decisions with cost and margin analysis.
• Collaborate with Production, Supply Chain, Procurement, Warehouse, Sales and Finance teams.
• Participate in physical inventory counts and investigate discrepancies.
• Prepare monthly cost reports, dashboards, forecasts and management presentations.
• Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, month‑end closing and reporting.
• Improve costing policies, internal controls, reporting tools and ERP costing processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Professional certification (CMA, CPA, ACCA or SOCPA) is a plus.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in manufacturing cost accounting or cost control.
• Proven experience in a factory environment, preferably food manufacturing, bakery, pastry or FMCG.
• Strong knowledge of standard costing, BOM costing, inventory valuation and variance analysis.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency.
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Odoo or similar).
• Ability to analyse large data sets and produce actionable insights.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
