Cost Director (Saudi National)

About the role

The Cost Director will lead cost management and commercial activities for a large multipurpose venue project in Riyadh. Reporting to senior leadership, the role ensures financial control, procurement excellence and contract administration throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Lead feasibility studies, cost planning, estimating and procurement strategy development.
• Manage the full procurement lifecycle, including pre‑qualification, tendering, bid evaluation and contract preparation.
• Oversee contract administration, approvals, warranties, bonds, licences and valuation documentation.
• Maintain accountability for cost control, cost reporting, post‑contract reporting and valuation services.
• Assess and manage design change costs, construction expenditures, client charges and claims for delay or additional costs.
• Ensure effective contract close‑out, including practical completion, defect rectification and final account agreement.
• Drive strategic planning, performance improvement initiatives and KPI delivery for cost management services.
• Develop and lead high‑performing multidisciplinary teams while promoting carbon‑reduction and net‑zero objectives.

Required profile

• Minimum 20 years of cost/commercial management experience on major capital projects.
• At least 10 years in senior leadership roles, preferably within the construction sector.
• Proven experience leading large, multidisciplinary cost teams and reporting to clients or government entities.
• Saudi national, able to work on‑site in Riyadh.
