Costing Accountant

About the role

The Costing Accountant supports invoicing, payment tracking, and accounts receivable reporting. The role ensures accurate financial records, prepares timely reports, and provides data insights to sales and finance teams to help follow up on outstanding accounts and maintain customer account integrity.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and issuing accurate, timely customer invoices based on approved sales and delivery data.
• Record incoming payments and apply them correctly to customer accounts.
• Monitor account balances, payment trends, and generate aging reports and exception lists for sales follow‑up.
• Reconcile AR ledgers, post payments and credit memos, and prepare monthly AR summaries and trend analyses.
• Document billing discrepancies, track dispute resolution, and support internal inquiries on account status.
• Maintain organized records of invoices, payments, and adjustments; coordinate with sales, finance, and customer service.
• Support internal audits by providing required AR documentation.
• Identify process‑improvement and automation opportunities, and ensure compliance with relevant policies, safety, quality, and environmental procedures.
