Critical Care Nursing Specialist (RN)

About the role

The Critical Care Nursing Specialist (RN) provides advanced nursing care to critically ill patients in a high‑acuity unit. Working closely with physicians, respiratory therapists and multidisciplinary teams, the RN ensures patient stabilization, recovery and family support through evidence‑based practices.

Key responsibilities

• Continuously monitor and assess patients’ vital signs and clinical status.
• Administer high‑risk medications, titrate IV drips and manage life‑support equipment such as ventilators and cardiac monitors.
• Implement physician orders promptly and escalate changes in condition.
• Perform emergency procedures including CPR, code‑blue response and rapid assessments.
• Maintain accurate nursing documentation and adhere to infection‑control and safety policies.
• Participate in patient rounds, audits and quality‑improvement initiatives.
• Mentor junior nursing staff and educate families on care plans.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) and a valid SCFHS nursing license.
• Minimum two years of clinical experience, preferably in critical care.
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS and PALS.
• Proficiency in English; Arabic is a plus.

• Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
