Data Catalog and Data Governance Specialist

About the role

The Data Catalog and Data Governance Specialist will help build trusted, accessible, and well‑managed data foundations across the organization. Working remotely, you will collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to define ownership models, stewardship practices, and standards that enable better decision‑making and AI readiness.

Key responsibilities

• Assess current data catalog, metadata management, and governance capabilities and define future‑state requirements.
• Conduct workshops and interviews to capture data processes, ownership needs, risks, and priorities.
• Identify critical data assets, document data flows, and define requirements for catalog adoption.
• Develop and support enterprise data catalog strategies, including metadata standards, taxonomy, classification, and business glossaries.
• Establish and operationalize data governance frameworks, ownership structures, stewardship models, and accountability processes.
• Support customer domain governance by standardizing concepts related to the customer lifecycle.
• Contribute to data quality improvement, compliance activities, audits, and governance documentation.
• Provide training, workshops, and governance guides to improve data literacy.
• Offer strategic support to data leadership on transformation, governance, and AI readiness initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in data catalog, metadata management, data governance or enterprise data management.
• Proven experience implementing or managing enterprise data catalog solutions.
