Database Administrator

About the role

Foreground is partnering with a Saudi‑based organization to hire an experienced Database Administrator to manage, maintain, and optimise its database infrastructure. The role ensures database availability, performance, security and reliability for business‑critical systems.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, administer and maintain database management systems such as SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Monitor database health, capacity and performance; perform routine maintenance, upgrades, patching and configuration changes.
• Identify and resolve performance issues, optimise queries, indexing and configurations.
• Implement and enforce security policies, access controls and support auditing and data‑protection requirements.
• Develop, execute and test backup, recovery and disaster‑recovery procedures, ensuring business continuity.
• Provide 24/7 operational support, respond to incidents, participate in shift work and coordinate with infrastructure, development and vendor teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on database administration experience in a production environment.
• Proven experience with at least one enterprise database platform (SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL).
• Strong knowledge of database architecture, performance tuning, backup/recovery and high‑availability configurations.
• Ability to diagnose critical incidents under pressure and communicate effectively with cross‑functional teams.
