Deputy Plant General Manager

About the role

The Deputy Plant General Manager provides overall direction to plant teams, ensuring safe, reliable and efficient operation of the Qurayyah Independent Power Plant while meeting contractual obligations and maximizing revenue.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute plant strategy aligned with ACWA Operations objectives.
• Lead plant operations and maintenance teams to achieve uninterrupted power and water supply.
• Prepare board presentations covering financial performance, warranty issues and manpower matters.
• Manage the plant operating budget, monitor financial performance and ensure revenue targets are met.
• Oversee SAP implementation and Integrated Management System compliance across the plant.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing large‑scale power or water desalination plants.
• Strong people‑management skills, including performance monitoring and talent development.
• Ability to translate operational strategy into short‑term production plans.
• Solid understanding of financial metrics, contractual obligations and cost control.
• Experience in leading root‑cause analysis and risk mitigation initiatives.

Required skills

• SAP (production planning, scheduling, material movement).
• Integrated Management System (IMS) implementation and audit support.
• Root cause analysis and corrective action planning.
