Dermatology Registrar (Physician)

About the role

The Registrar – Dermatology is a physician in advanced specialty training who delivers comprehensive dermatology care through both in‑person and telemedicine platforms. Working under consultant supervision, you will manage acute, chronic and complex skin conditions while supporting clinical governance and mentoring junior staff.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct virtual and face‑to‑face dermatology consultations for adult and paediatric patients.
• Diagnose and treat a wide range of dermatological conditions, including eczema, psoriasis, infections, hair and nail disorders, and manage emergencies and red‑flag cases.
• Develop individualized treatment plans, prescribe topical and systemic therapies, and ensure safe medication monitoring.
• Document all encounters accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR) and coordinate follow‑up care and referrals.
• Adhere to clinical guidelines, patient‑safety standards and telehealth regulations; report incidents and participate in audits and quality‑improvement projects.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge through CME, workshops and conferences; contribute to teaching and supervision of junior doctors.
• Utilise teledermatology platforms for video, image‑based and synchronous consultations, ensuring high‑quality assessments and secure digital record keeping.
• Communicate diagnoses and management plans empathetically, promote treatment adherence and address patient feedback.
• Collaborate with consultants, primary‑care physicians, pharmacists and allied health professionals in multidisciplinary case discussions.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
• Completed dermatology residency or fellowship training.
• Registered with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties as a Registrar – Dermatology.
• Strong clinical judgment and diagnostic skills in dermatology.
• Experience with teledermatology services.

Required skills

• Proficiency with teledermatology platforms.
• Experience using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
• Knowledge of digital health data privacy and security regulations.
