Design Director – Architecture & Interior Design

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and creative Design Director to lead the Architecture and Interior Design function across our hospitality projects. The role will set the overall design vision, ensure quality and consistency, and translate brand and business objectives into distinctive, functional, and memorable environments.

Key responsibilities

• Lead overall Architecture and Interior Design vision and strategy for hospitality projects.
• Establish and maintain design standards, guidelines, and principles aligned with brand and guest experience.
• Oversee design concepts from initial concept through development and execution.
• Review and approve layouts, materials, finishes, FF&E, furniture, fixtures, and design details.
• Ensure designs balance aesthetics, functionality, guest experience, operational requirements, and commercial objectives.
• Manage external architects, interior designers, consultants and creative partners, providing clear creative and technical direction.
• Collaborate with Development, Operations, Hospitality, FM, Project Management and other stakeholders.
• Drive value engineering while protecting design intent and quality.
• Conduct design reviews, site visits and quality assessments throughout execution.
• Identify innovative opportunities to enhance guest areas, public spaces, amenities, F&B areas and overall hospitality experiences.
• Ensure compliance with building codes, regulations and project standards.
• Manage design timelines, deliverables, priorities and budgets in coordination with project teams.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to internal design teams and foster a strong design culture.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design or related discipline.
• 8–13 years of relevant professional experience, preferably in hospitality, hotels, resorts, lifestyle or mixed‑use sectors.
• Proven experience leading Architecture and Interior Design projects from concept to execution.
• Strong knowledge of architectural and interior design principles, materials, finishes, FF&E and spatial planning.
• Experience managing international or local design consultants and multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to balance aesthetics, functionality, operational and commercial requirements.
