Design Director – Estate Management & City Assets

About the role

The Design Director for Estate Management will lead operational design review, assurance and stakeholder coordination for city and district assets. Reporting to JASARA PMC, you will ensure that operability, maintainability, accessibility and long‑term sustainability are embedded throughout planning, design, delivery and handover of assets and facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide operational design leadership and assurance across city and district developments.
• Represent future operators, maintainers and asset owners during design reviews and asset delivery.
• Develop and maintain operational design requirements and coordinate stakeholder alignment.
• Manage specialist consultants related to operational design assurance.
• Collaborate with development, delivery, city operations, community management, utilities, mobility, security and digital teams to embed safe, efficient and sustainable operation.
• Act as the Estate Management design authority, delivering independent review, challenge and recommendations for all operational assets.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of experience in design management, estate or infrastructure projects.
• Proven ability to lead multi‑disciplinary teams and manage complex stakeholder environments.
• Strong understanding of operational readiness, maintainability and asset lifecycle considerations.
• Experience working on large‑scale, giga‑project environments, preferably in the Middle East.
