Design Engineer – Overhead Transmission Lines (OHTL)

About the role

The Design Engineer (OHTL) will be responsible for the engineering design of overhead transmission lines operating at 132 kV and 380 kV. The role involves creating detailed design drawings, performing technical calculations, and ensuring that all designs meet project specifications and industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design overhead transmission lines (132 kV/380 kV) using industry‑standard software.
• Prepare design drawings, plan & profile layouts, and perform sag and tension calculations.
• Develop technical calculations and ensure compliance with project specifications and relevant standards.
• Coordinate with project teams to support design execution and resolve technical issues.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the direct manager.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in overhead transmission line design.
• Proven experience designing 132 kV and 380 kV transmission lines.

Required skills

• Proficiency in PLS‑CADD.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Proficiency in MicroStation.
• Ability to prepare sag and tension calculations.
• Ability to produce plan and profile drawings.
