Design Manager – Hospitality & Resorts

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Design Manager to lead the design process for internationally branded 4‑ and 5‑star hotels and resorts. The role will oversee the project from pre‑concept through to handover, acting as the central link between designers, consultants, operators and delivery teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the design process throughout the full project lifecycle.
• Coordinate with lead designers, architects, sub‑consultants, operators and internal stakeholders.
• Review design deliverables to ensure alignment with project requirements, design intent, quality standards and programme.
• Provide technical design input and challenge solutions where required.
• Manage design coordination across architectural, interior, structural, MEP, BIM and specialist disciplines.
• Review and coordinate BIM models, including clash detection and design coordination.
• Review design drawings, material submissions, samples and technical submittals.
• Support site teams with design‑related issues, material inspections, snagging and technical queries.
• Coordinate design changes and obtain appropriate approvals.
• Monitor design programme, deliverables, dependencies and risks.
• Ensure operational and brand requirements of hotel operators are incorporated.
• Support transition from design to construction and final handover.
• Coordinate hospitality technology and hotel systems with overall design.
• Contribute to resort master planning and large‑scale hospitality development where applicable.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture.
• Proven experience delivering at least three internationally branded 4‑ or 5‑star hotels/resorts.
• Experience across concept, schematic design, detailed design and Issued for Construction (IFC) stages.
• Strong design coordination and consultant management skills.
• Demonstrated site experience, including material inspections, snagging and shop‑drawing reviews.
• Experience working with hotel operators and internationally branded hospitality projects.
• Experience reviewing BIM models and participating in clash detection processes.
• Proficiency with Revit and/or Navisworks.
• Experience managing lead designers, sub‑consultants and operators simultaneously.
• Resort master planning experience is highly desirable.
