Director – Development Finance Business Partner

About the role

The Director – Development Finance Business Partner provides financial leadership and strategic insight to support the organization’s operational and growth objectives. Reporting to the Senior Executive Director – Finance Business Partner (or CFO), the role acts as a trusted advisor to business leaders, translating strategy into actionable financial plans.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the preparation, consolidation and monitoring of annual budgets, periodic forecasts and long‑term business plans.
• Conduct detailed financial analysis, variance reporting and performance commentary to guide corrective actions.
• Develop executive‑level management reports, dashboards and KPI tracking tools.
• Partner with development and project teams to evaluate economics, funding needs and financial viability of initiatives.
• Review commercial contracts, procurement strategies and major commitments from a financial perspective.
• Support month‑end and quarter‑end reporting, collaborating with accounting, treasury, tax and procurement functions.
• Drive continuous improvement in reporting, planning processes, data quality and financial systems.
• Lead, coach and develop a team of finance professionals, fostering a high‑performance culture.

Required profile

• 12+ years of progressive finance experience, with at least 5 years in finance business partnering, FP&A, corporate finance or commercial finance leadership.
• Proven experience in large‑scale development or infrastructure projects.
• Strong commercial acumen, analytical capability and ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
