Director of Commercial - Sofitel Jabal Omar Makkah

About the role

The Director of Commercial is the strategic leader of all revenue-generating functions (Sales, Marketing, Ecommerce and Revenue Management) at Sofitel Jabal Omar Makkah, reporting directly to the General Manager. You unite these functions into a single growth engine, drive performance across Rooms, F&B, MICE, Wellness and other verticals, and are accountable for the hotel's overall commercial and marketing results.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute marketing and commercial strategies across all segments and channels, and lead the annual budget process with accurate monthly forecasts.
• Oversee sales across luxury agencies, corporate, MICE and leisure groups, build key client relationships and represent the hotel at trade shows and sales missions.
• Oversee PR, partnerships, campaigns and social media, keeping storytelling and visual identity consistent.
• Maximise performance on direct and indirect online channels, ensure price parity and use SEO, SEA, metasearch, CRM and OTA partnerships to boost conversion.
• Lead Revenue Management to maximise RevPAR and profitability, define the optimal business mix and monitor KPIs.
• Lead and develop teams, run regular commercial reviews and reporting meetings with executive management and owners, and collaborate with the GM, Finance Director and global/regional teams.

Required profile

• 10 to 15 years of experience in sales and marketing or revenue management.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Hospitality or a related field.
• Strong analytical, strategic and commercial acumen, with excellent understanding of total hotel revenue management concepts and systems.
• Very good verbal and written English; Arabic is a plus.
• Proactive, client-oriented leader able to work under pressure and handle sensitive matters with discretion.

Required skills

• Proficiency in RMS, PMS, CRS, analytics tools and CRM platforms.
• Knowledge of transient, group and catering segments.
