Director of Legal Compliance & International Affairs

About the role

NAQEL Express, a leading logistics and supply‑chain provider in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East, seeks a Director of Legal Compliance & International Affairs to lead its legal, governance, and risk functions across all international subsidiaries.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee legal affairs, governance, compliance, and risk management for international subsidiaries.
• Provide strategic legal advice to senior management and the Board on cross‑border matters.
• Support establishment, registration, licensing, and regulatory compliance of overseas entities.
• Draft, review, negotiate and manage domestic and international contracts, agreements, MOUs and employment contracts.
• Manage domestic and international litigation, arbitration, disputes and external counsel.
• Protect and manage worldwide intellectual property rights.
• Monitor global legal and regulatory developments and implement risk‑mitigation measures.
• Maintain relationships with international partners, government authorities and regulatory bodies on legal issues.
• Drive policy, procedure and service improvements and ensure effective implementation of NAQEL agreements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law; Master’s degree or equivalent is an advantage.
• Minimum 10 years of legal and compliance experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Fluency in Arabic and English.
• Previous experience as a Board Secretary is preferred.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of corporate, commercial and international law.
• Expertise in compliance frameworks such as AML, anti‑bribery and sanctions.
• Ability to interpret and apply complex legal and regulatory requirements.
• Skilled in contract negotiation, litigation management and policy development.
• Intellectual property rights management.
