English / Social Studies Teacher

About the role

Jeddah International Academy, part of the SABIS educational network, is looking for an English / Social Studies teacher. The teacher ensures students' academic success by implementing the SABIS curriculum and teaching methods, and supports students in reaching their full potential.

Key responsibilities

• Teach classes using provided lesson plans, developing them from pacing charts where needed, and apply the SABIS point system in the classroom.
• Mark exams according to the schedule and materials provided by the department, and proctor exams as required.
• Discuss student disciplinary and academic concerns with the Academic Quality Controller and the Head of Department.
• Support and motivate academically underperforming students.
• Help prepare students for external exams by reviewing past papers according to the revision schedule.
• Take part in student life events such as art, open houses and physical education, with the Student Life Coordinator.
• Attend training sessions and perform other tasks delegated by school management, including testing students, substituting for absent teachers and helping with lunch and bus organisation.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
• English proficiency.
• A minimum of 1 year of teaching experience.
• Ability to meet country and local education and certification requirements, and to pass reference and criminal background checks.
