Executive Chef

About the role

The Executive Chef will lead all kitchen operations for Courtyard by Marriott in Riyadh, overseeing food preparation for banquet, room service, restaurant, bar/lounge and employee cafeteria. The role combines hands‑on culinary work with strategic management to ensure consistent quality, guest satisfaction and financial performance.

Key responsibilities

• Direct daily kitchen activities across all service outlets, ensuring high‑quality output.
• Develop and update menus, incorporating guest preferences and cost considerations.
• Manage purchasing, inventory control and vendor relationships to maintain optimal stock levels.
• Enforce sanitation and food safety standards in all preparation and service areas.
• Control food costs, budgeting and financial reporting for the culinary department.
• Recruit, train, mentor and evaluate kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative team environment.
• Coordinate with dish room, purchasing and hotel management to streamline operations.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with at least 6 years of culinary or food‑service experience, OR a 2‑year culinary degree with 4 years of relevant experience.
• Proven leadership ability in a hotel or large‑scale food‑service environment.
• Strong understanding of financial and operational metrics.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
