Financial Operations Manager – Accounts Receivable & Billing

About the role

Lead and manage the full accounts receivable and billing lifecycle for a fast‑growing utilities business. Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will ensure accurate invoicing, timely revenue recognition and effective collections to optimise cash flow while driving process automation and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Finalize end‑user agreements and collaborate with operations to verify consumption data.
• Generate, submit and reconcile final bills in SAP ERP.
• Monitor aging reports, negotiate payment arrangements and escalate delinquent accounts.
• Define and implement credit policies in partnership with stakeholders.
• Maintain internal controls, support audits and ensure compliance with utilities regulations.
• Prepare and present AR KPIs and provide actionable insights to senior leadership.
• Identify inefficiencies, recommend improvements and lead automation initiatives for billing and collections.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field (MBA or CPA a plus).
• 8+ years experience in AR, billing, credit or collections, with at least 3‑5 years in a managerial role.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, receivables controls and regulatory requirements.
• Proven ability to build and mentor high‑performing teams.
