Founding Engineer (Part‑Time + Equity)

About the role

We are seeking a part‑time founding engineer to take full technical ownership of our production web application and mobile app. The role is remote, 10‑20 hours per week, and combines hands‑on development with AI‑assisted code maintenance, performance tuning, and security hardening.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and extend both frontend and backend features while preserving existing functionality.
• Maintain and improve an AI‑generated codebase, refactor for clarity, and fix bugs and edge cases.
• Test core user flows (registration, matching, messaging, payments) across browsers, devices, and RTL Arabic interfaces.
• Monitor performance, optimise APIs and database queries, and enforce web‑security best practices.
• Review authentication/authorization logic and ensure proper handling of sensitive data.
• Communicate technical risks, document critical system areas, and suggest proactive improvements.

Required profile

• 3–6 years of professional full‑stack engineering experience.
• Proven track record of owning production systems and delivering reliable releases.
• Strong debugging, problem‑solving, and independent work habits.
• Fluent in English and Arabic (written and spoken).

Required skills

• React, Next.js, Tailwind CSS (including Arabic RTL support).
• Python and experience with AI/LLM APIs such as Google Gemini.
• REST API design, Git version control, and deployment/environment management.
• Error handling, monitoring, authentication & authorization best practices.
• Web security fundamentals and handling of sensitive user data.
