General Accountant

About the role

A professional finance and accounting team in Riyadh is looking for an experienced General Accountant to manage daily accounting operations and support accurate financial reporting. The role covers maintaining financial records, overseeing general ledger activities and helping with compliance with Saudi VAT, Zakat and other financial regulations. The position is full-time.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate general ledger accounts and financial records
• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations and supporting financial schedules
• Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and reports
• Ensure compliance with Saudi VAT, Zakat and relevant financial regulations
• Monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable, accruals and prepaid expenses
• Conduct bank reconciliations and investigate accounting discrepancies
• Support month-end and year-end closing procedures
• Record and process transactions using the company's ERP system
• Coordinate with internal departments and external auditors when needed
• Strengthen financial controls and improve accounting procedures

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 5-7 years of professional accounting experience
• Strong understanding of Saudi VAT, Zakat and financial compliance requirements
• Proficiency in both Arabic and English
• Analytical, reporting and problem-solving skills with attention to detail

Required skills

• Practical experience with ERP systems and accounting software
• Experience with financial reconciliations
• Knowledge of general ledger management, financial reporting, account reconciliation and financial controls
