General Aide – Patient Support & Transport

About the role

The General Aide provides essential support to patients and staff, ensuring smooth patient flow and efficient service across all departments of Fakeeh Healthcare. Working primarily in outpatient clinics, the role involves chaperoning, transporting patients, and handling equipment and specimens.

Key responsibilities

• Transfer stable ambulatory patients or those in wheelchairs, with or without an escort, as directed by nursing leadership.
• Transport sick or unstable patients on beds or wheelchairs between wards, accompanied by a nurse or physician when required.
• Assist with moving dependent patients to and from beds, wheelchairs, or stretchers.
• Move medical equipment and act as a courier for specimens, medications, paperwork, and medical records.
• Collect and deliver supplies from storage to designated units.
• Support discharge processes and escort discharged patients to their vehicles.
• Provide patient education on infection control and fall prevention.
• Follow isolation policies, conduct environmental checks, and report safety non‑compliance.
• Check vacant rooms for admission readiness and report maintenance issues.
• Facilitate patient flow for physicians, act as a clinic chaperone, and assist with patient assessments (height and weight).

Required profile

• Ability to safely move and transport patients of varying mobility levels.
• Knowledge of infection control, fall prevention, and isolation procedures.
• Strong attention to safety standards and ability to report non‑compliance.
• Professional demeanor, presentable appearance, and ability to respond to call bells promptly.
• Commitment to confidentiality and adherence to cybersecurity policies.
