General Practitioner (Surgery)

About the role

The General Practitioner (Surgery) will deliver high‑quality medical care to patients at NMC hospitals and clinics, adhering to evidence‑based practice, professional ethics and Saudi Ministry of Health regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform history taking, physical examinations, interpret diagnostic tests and devise management plans for admissions.
• Conduct daily ward rounds, coordinate care with consultants and senior registrars.
• Participate in on‑call rotations, morning reports and present admissions.
• Execute diagnostic procedures (e.g., bone‑marrow aspiration, lumbar puncture) after senior staff consultation.
• Provide outpatient care in OPD and ER under senior supervision.
• Document patient progress, update charts and ensure follow‑up notes are current.

Required profile

• Minimum 24 months of clinical experience.
• Fluent in spoken and written English and Arabic.
• Knowledge of CBAHI and JCIA accreditation standards.
• Familiarity with Saudi Ministry of Health laws and hospital medical by‑laws.
• Commitment to evidence‑based medicine and professional medical ethics.
