Head of Controls Oversight Programme

About the role

The Head of Controls Oversight Programme will partner with all Lines of Business and Functions to deliver risk‑based, strategic outcomes for the bank. Reporting to senior management, you will guide the design and sustainability of controls, ensuring the bank’s risk profile is effectively managed.

Key responsibilities

• Enforce robust risk governance and provide visibility of key risks and remediation activities.
• Advise on risk appetite, set, communicate and monitor it in line with business requirements.
• Conduct high‑quality reviews of control performance and facilitate remediation where needed.
• Raise awareness of risks, controls and risk management across the organisation.
• Define control standards, procedures and other artefacts, and develop a standardized testing methodology.
• Produce reports and insights on material risk and controls, supporting a bank‑wide read‑across approach.
• Promote accountable risk‑based decision‑making using quality data and commercial analysis.
• Lead and shape a team of professionals, acting as escalation point for complex issues.

Required profile

• Proven experience partnering with business lines and senior management on risk and control matters.
• Strong knowledge of risk management methodology, including MI & reporting.
• Ability to influence regulatory frameworks and drive future‑fit risk management practices.
• Excellent communication skills to raise risk awareness and embed a positive risk culture.
• Leadership experience managing cross‑functional teams.
