Head of Cross-Border Procurement

About the role

The Head of Cross-Border Procurement will lead the development and execution of the overall strategy for a product category, identifying new opportunities and driving sales to meet set targets. This senior position oversees supplier relationships, pricing, and category performance across international markets.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse market and consumer data to spot trends and new product opportunities.
• Identify, negotiate and maintain long‑term partnerships with distributors and sellers.
• Source new suppliers aligned with the category strategy.
• Assist in setting annual budget, sales targets and profit goals for the category.
• Manage price setting and ensure margin objectives are met.
• Monitor and improve product and category performance.
• Develop long‑term growth strategies and exit plans for under‑performing products.
• Build trusted relationships with vendors to secure better pricing and service quality.
• Determine product positioning to maximise visibility and competitiveness.
• Collaborate with buyers and merchandisers to expand the product range.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years experience as a buyer or Category Manager in the grocery (non‑food) sector.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing or an equivalent field.
