Head Waiter – InterContinental Riyadh

About the role

The InterContinental Riyadh is seeking an experienced Head Waiter to lead restaurant sections across breakfast, lunch, dinner, buffet and à la carte services. You will ensure flawless service delivery, uphold IHG standards, and create memorable guest experiences in a luxury hotel environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead assigned sections, preparing tables, buffets and service stations before each service.
• Allocate and coordinate wait staff, maintaining a strong floor presence and engaging with guests.
• Take accurate orders, coordinate with Culinary on dietary requirements, and ensure timely delivery.
• Drive revenue by meeting average check and upselling targets while using POS systems correctly.
• Handle initial guest concerns, escalating serious issues to the Supervisor or Restaurant Manager.
• Recognise VIPs, returning guests and special occasions, delivering personalised service.
• Report operational, maintenance and service issues promptly.
• Assume shift responsibility in the absence of the F&B Supervisor.
• Lead by example, support daily briefings, and train wait staff on service standards, menu knowledge and allergen handling.
• Maintain HACCP, food safety, hygiene and cleanliness standards throughout the shift.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience in luxury hotels, reputable restaurants, buffet or à la carte service.
• Previous role as Senior Waiter, Captain or equivalent leadership position.
• Strong knowledge of Saudi food‑safety regulations and hotel service standards.
• Ability to manage a team, handle guest concerns and support revenue goals.
