HSE Engineer – Construction Site Safety

About the role

The HSE Engineer will be responsible for implementing and monitoring the Health, Safety, and Environmental Management System (HSEMS) across construction project sites. Reporting to the Senior HSE Officer, the role ensures compliance with safety plans, conducts inspections, and drives proactive safety awareness among project teams and subcontractors.

Key responsibilities

• Station on site and report HSE matters to the Senior HSE Officer.
• Monitor compliance of personnel and subcontractors with approved safety plans, procedures, method statements, and risk assessments.
• Report non‑conformances, corrective actions, and safety violations promptly.
• Chair internal site safety meetings, prepare minutes, and distribute to all parties.
• Conduct daily safety inspections and ensure adherence to safe systems of work and permits to work.
• Investigate accidents and near‑miss incidents, delivering detailed reports within 48 hours.
• Coordinate with the Project Manager to track and close out corrective actions.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of construction site safety practices and HSE regulations.
• Effective communication skills to liaise with project managers, subcontractors, and site staff.
• Ability to prepare clear reports, meeting minutes, and corrective action documentation.
• Proactive attitude toward identifying and mitigating safety risks.
