Internal Audit Quality Assurance Specialist

About the role

The Internal Audit Quality Assurance Specialist will lead quality reviews across Riyad Bank’s Internal Audit function, ensuring compliance with IIA standards and the professional code of ethics. This role supports the development and execution of the Quality Assurance and Improvement Program (QAIP) and acts as a key liaison for external quality assessments.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain departmental policies, procedures, and audit templates in line with IIA standards.
• Conduct day‑to‑day QA reviews of internal audit operations to verify adherence to established processes.
• Design, deliver, and monitor the QAIP, preparing accurate QA reports for the Board Audit Committee.
• Serve as the primary contact for the External Quality Assurance Review (QAR) and coordinate internal quality assessments.
• Assess the needs of audit leadership and sections, providing guidance to enhance audit quality.
• Facilitate workshops and training sessions on quality standards for the audit team.
• Represent the internal audit function with external stakeholders and industry forums, benchmarking practices nationally and internationally.
• Prepare MIS packs and ad‑hoc reports to support strategic decision‑making.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of internal audit standards, IIA guidelines, and professional ethics.
• Experience in developing audit policies, procedures, and quality assurance frameworks.
• Proven ability to conduct internal and external quality assessments.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Capability to lead training sessions and promote continuous improvement.

Required skills

• Knowledge of IIA standards and internal audit methodology.
• Familiarity with quality assurance and improvement programs (QAIP).
• Experience preparing MIS reports and audit documentation.
