IT Cloud Planning Expert

About the role

The IT Cloud Planning Expert will lead strategic planning, capacity forecasting and continuous evolution of enterprise cloud infrastructure across private, public, hybrid and multi‑cloud environments. This senior role translates business and application requirements into scalable infrastructure plans, technology roadmaps, and investment strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Lead short‑, medium‑ and long‑term capacity planning for private, public, hybrid and multi‑cloud environments, aligning resources with business demand.
• Develop cloud infrastructure roadmaps covering platform modernization, technology refresh, consolidation, standardization and end‑of‑life management for VMware, Red Hat, hyper‑converged and cloud‑native platforms.
• Own CAPEX/OPEX forecasting, annual budgeting and multi‑year investment planning, including TCO and cost‑benefit analysis.
• Define workload placement, migration and repatriation strategies across AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, private cloud and edge environments.
• Assess AI/ML, Generative AI and Agentic AI infrastructure requirements, including GPU capacity, high‑performance networking and storage.
• Drive FinOps practices, cloud consumption analysis, resource optimisation and chargeback/showback mechanisms.
• Lead vendor and commercial evaluations, RFI/RFP processes, proof‑of‑concept assessments and licensing negotiations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or related field; master’s degree or relevant certifications are a plus.
• 8+ years of experience in IT cloud infrastructure, data‑center operations, virtualization or enterprise infrastructure strategy.
• Proven experience in multi‑cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and capacity planning.
• Strong background in budgeting, financial planning and FinOps.
• Experience with cloud migration, modernization and AI infrastructure planning.
