Lead Auditor

About the role

The Lead Auditor will oversee complex tax audit engagements, focusing on senior taxpayers across multiple industries. This role combines deep knowledge of VAT, GAAP and audit standards with the ability to guide audit teams and ensure high‑quality, compliant audit outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Stay up‑to‑date with VAT policies, GAAP and auditing standards, integrating updates into audit processes.
• Develop and maintain assessment templates, audit tools and senior taxpayer manuals.
• Coordinate with account managers and stakeholders to obtain required documentation and clarify audit requests.
• Conduct office audits, field visits and comprehensive data collection on taxpayer operations.
• Analyse financial statements, income declarations and revenue streams to determine appropriate valuation approaches.
• Identify high‑risk cases, detect non‑compliance and communicate findings to internal teams.
• Review past audit files to validate accounts such as sales, receivables, imports and inventory.
• Prepare and present reports on audit results and high‑risk findings.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in tax auditing, particularly VAT and senior taxpayer assessments.
• Strong understanding of GAAP, VAT regulations and professional audit standards.
• Proven ability to lead audit teams and mentor junior auditors.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
