Lead EIC Engineer - Offshore Electrical

About the role

Subsea 7 is looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer with senior or lead-level experience for its Central Engineering Department. The engineer supervises an appointed engineering subcontractor together with the Lead Engineer and executes detailed engineering according to the technical scope of work, keeping design aligned with client and Subsea 7 standards and procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate communication with the subcontractor and report details to the Topside Package Lead / Lead Engineer.
• Coordinate with other disciplines such as mechanical and piping to align engineering works.
• Review the subcontractor's execution of the technical scope of work and its deliverables against project requirements and standards.
• Plan, detail and review technical documentation for topside systems, focusing on E&IC and telecommunication systems.
• Confirm the accuracy and completeness of milestones such as IFC drawings, technical reviews and inputs for Engineering, Readiness and Operational Reviews.
• Gather lessons learned, support resolution of technical issues and conduct regular progress reviews to keep timelines, quality and cost under control.
• Attend project, vendor and engineering meetings and ensure safety objectives and legal requirements are met, accepting HSE roles and responsibilities as per the HSE matrix.
• Support internal engineering improvements, including tools, guidelines and templates, training materials and supervision of trainees and junior team members.

Required profile

• Minimum bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
• More than 12 years of relevant experience in detailed engineering for offshore oil and gas brownfield modifications for Aramco projects.
• In-depth knowledge of Saudi Aramco standards (SAES, SAEP), industry codes and engineering best practices.
• Experience in Saudi Aramco projects, MSEARs, greenfield and brownfield offshore projects, and Aramco design reviews.

Required skills

• LV, MV and HV electrical equipment and distribution, including equipment sizing calculations.
• ETAP studies (load flow, short circuit, relay coordination, harmonics).
• Electrical protection, grid and generator synchronization, grounding design.
• SPEL, 3D modelling, constructability review, MTO for electrical and bulk items, procurement engineering (MR/RFQ, TBE, PR) and vendor package management.
• HAZID, HAZOP and safety studies.
