Lead Procurement Engineer – Luxury 5‑Star Hotels

About the role

The Procurement Civil / Architecture Lead Engineer will direct all procurement activities for large‑scale luxury hotel projects, ensuring timely delivery of materials, equipment and subcontracted services while adhering to budgets and project specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with project schedules, budgets and technical requirements.
• Review drawings, specifications, BOQs and material requisitions to define procurement needs.
• Prepare and issue RFQs, RFPs, tenders and manage supplier inquiries.
• Identify, pre‑qualify and maintain relationships with qualified suppliers, manufacturers and subcontractors.
• Lead technical and commercial evaluations, negotiate pricing, payment terms, warranties and delivery schedules.
• Approve purchase orders within delegated authority and monitor supplier performance, manufacturing progress and delivery.
• Coordinate expediting activities for critical and long‑lead items and ensure seamless hand‑over to construction, logistics and stores teams.
• Track procurement progress against the project plan, flag potential delays and implement mitigation or recovery plans.
• Support cost‑control initiatives, value engineering, alternative material sourcing and commercial optimisation.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading procurement for large construction or hospitality projects.
• Strong understanding of civil and architectural specifications, BOQs and technical documentation.
• Excellent negotiation and commercial evaluation skills.
• Ability to work closely with multidisciplinary teams including engineering, construction, QA/QC and finance.
• Detail‑oriented with strong organisational and planning capabilities.
