Linux/AIX Engineer – Container Platforms

About the role

The Linux/AIX Engineer will lead the architecture, deployment, and ongoing operation of mission‑critical Linux and AIX environments across physical, virtual, and hybrid platforms. This role focuses on automation, security, performance tuning, and high‑availability to ensure stable and resilient infrastructure services.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and manage Linux systems (RHEL, CentOS, SUSE) for critical infrastructure.
• Design, configure, and maintain AIX servers in pSeries architecture, including LPARs, VIO servers, and PowerVM environments.
• Automate OS deployments, patching, and configuration using Ansible, SaltStack, and related tools.
• Integrate Unix systems with security controls, monitoring tools, and compliance frameworks.
• Analyze performance bottlenecks and implement permanent fixes through root‑cause analysis.
• Participate in disaster‑recovery readiness and high‑availability testing.
• Provide technical support for infrastructure services, incident response, and task assistance.
• Contribute to infrastructure projects, documentation, and configuration records.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• Typically 6+ years of industry experience, with at least 2 years in a similar role.
• Proven experience in infrastructure technology analysis and data analysis.
• Continuous learner who stays current with emerging technologies.

Required skills

• Advanced knowledge of Linux OS internals and kernel tuning.
• Expertise in AIX, PowerHA, PowerVM, NIM, and VIO servers.
• Experience with virtualization technologies such as KVM and VMware.
• Automation using Ansible, SaltStack, Puppet, and centralized management tools like Red Hat Satellite or SUSE Manager.
• Understanding of CIS hardening, log forwarding, SIEM integration, and OS‑level security compliance.
