Logistics Accountant – Shipping Operations

About the role

Salla, a leading e‑commerce platform in the MENA region, is expanding its logistics and shipping operations. We are looking for a Logistics Accountant to join the Finance team and ensure accurate accounting, reconciliation, and reporting for all shipping activities.

Key responsibilities

• Calculate and track logistics‑related revenues, monitor performance metrics, and reconcile revenues against issued invoices.
• Manage deferred revenue in line with IFRS standards and investigate significant fluctuations in revenue, costs, volumes, and margins.
• Reconcile vendor and logistics partner invoices with internal records (e.g., AWBs, shipping rates) and process Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) entries.
• Identify and resolve revenue leakage, excess vendor charges, or pricing errors; ensure timely payments to logistics vendors.
• Prepare periodic reconciliations for logistics transactions, shipping gateways, and clearing accounts.
• Generate analytical reports on billing, collections, logistics margins, and revenue analysis.
• Maintain audit‑ready financial records, support month‑end closing, and respond to auditor requests.
• Continuously evaluate and streamline shipping and logistics accounting workflows.
• Collaborate with Operations, Product, and Accounting teams to resolve issues and improve processes.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting, preferably within logistics, shipping, or e‑commerce.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial controls.
• Proven ability to perform month‑end closing, variance analysis, and audit preparation.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
