Logistics Officer – Import/Export & Customs

About the role

We are seeking a Logistics Officer to manage import‑export operations and customs clearance for our supply chain in Dammam. The role requires strong coordination with brokers, freight forwarders, and Saudi authorities to ensure smooth material flow.

Key responsibilities

• Obtain, manage, and monitor Saudi Customs import duty exemptions for raw materials, machinery, spare parts, and eligible items.
• Oversee import and export logistics, including shipment tracking, transportation coordination, and on‑time delivery.
• Coordinate customs clearance with brokers, freight forwarders, shipping lines, ZATCA, and relevant authorities.
• Prepare, verify, and maintain shipping and customs documentation such as invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and certificates of origin.
• Collaborate with suppliers and internal departments to ensure compliance with shipping requirements.
• Monitor shipments, resolve logistics or customs issues, and support urgent shipments.
• Maintain accurate logistics records, shipment reports, customs exemption records, and cost analyses.
• Identify opportunities to optimise freight costs, transit times, customs processes, and overall logistics efficiency.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in logistics, import/export, and customs clearance, preferably in steel, manufacturing, or construction materials.
• Strong knowledge of Saudi Customs procedures, freight forwarding, and shipping documentation.
• Experience dealing with shipping lines, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and transport companies.
• Good understanding of Incoterms and international shipping practices.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and coordination abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with ERP systems.
