Parts Advisor – Automotive Parts Sales & Service

About the role

The Parts Advisor ensures the accurate identification, quotation, and timely supply of genuine automotive parts to workshop technicians, retail customers, and trade accounts. By balancing sales targets with disciplined inventory control, the role directly supports workshop efficiency and after‑sales profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, quote, and supply genuine parts to workshop, retail, and trade customers.
• Advise customers on correct part selection, compatibility, alternatives and upsell accessories.
• Achieve monthly targets for parts revenue, gross margin and accessory penetration.
• Process purchase orders, goods receipts, inter‑branch transfers and stock adjustments in the DMS.
• Maintain optimal stock levels, conduct cycle counts and support full stock takes.
• Monitor stock aging, obsolescence and demand trends, recommending corrective actions.
• Supply parts to the workshop within promised delivery times to avoid repair order delays.
• Coordinate urgent requirements with Service Advisors and Workshop Supervisors.
• Place daily and emergency orders with OEM suppliers, track open orders and provide accurate ETAs.

Required profile

• Strong product knowledge of automotive parts and accessories.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage inventory accurately.
• Excellent communication skills for customer interaction and internal coordination.
• Commercial mindset with focus on meeting sales and margin targets.

Required skills

• Proficiency with a Dealer Management System (DMS).
