Part‑Time Upper Limb Orthopaedic Consultant

About the role

The position provides specialised upper‑limb orthopaedic care on a part‑time, in‑person basis at the ICC physical clinic. The consultant will manage a broad spectrum of shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand conditions, ensuring continuity of care between part‑time sessions and the full‑time clinical team.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive assessments, diagnoses and treatment plans for acute and chronic upper‑limb musculoskeletal disorders during scheduled clinic sessions.
• Coordinate pre‑operative assessments, post‑operative follow‑up and referrals, working closely with multidisciplinary teams including physiotherapy.
• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in the electronic health record to support seamless handover and continuity of care.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits and regulatory compliance programmes within part‑time hours.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MBBS, MD or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
• Residency training and board certification in Orthopaedic Surgery.
• Fellowship certification in Upper Limb, Hand or Wrist Surgery.
• Saudi Commission for Health Specialties classification and registration as an Orthopaedic Surgery Consultant.
• Minimum three years of clinical practice focused on upper‑limb orthopaedics.

Required skills

• Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
• Ability to document clinical encounters accurately in an electronic health record (EHR) platform.
