Pediatric Anesthesia Consultant

About the role

We are seeking a Pediatric Anesthesia Consultant to join a leading tertiary healthcare provider in Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will deliver comprehensive anaesthetic care for infants, children, and adolescents across a wide range of high‑acuity surgical specialties.

Key responsibilities

• Provide independent pediatric anesthesia for general, neonatal, ENT, orthopaedic, ophthalmic, urological, trauma, oncology, radiology and interventional procedures.
• Manage high‑risk patients (ASA III–IV), including complex airway, rapid‑sequence induction and emergency resuscitation.
• Support NICU and PICU with neonatal emergencies, pre‑operative optimisation and postoperative pain control.
• Perform and supervise regional and ultrasound‑guided nerve blocks as part of multimodal pain management.
• Participate in MDT discussions, quality‑improvement initiatives, morbidity & mortality reviews and departmental audits.
• Train junior anaesthesia staff through simulation sessions and competency development programs.

Required profile

• Western Board Certification in Anesthesia (e.g., FRCA, American Board, FRCPC, CIC, FANZCA or equivalent).
• Recognised Fellowship in Pediatric Anesthesia or minimum 2–3 years of tertiary‑level pediatric anaesthesia experience.
• Eligibility for SCFHS Consultant classification.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work within multidisciplinary paediatric teams.
